the resurrection is the key

“God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his own power..”

1 Cor 6:14

“The entire plan for the future has its key in the resurrection. Unless Christ was raised from the dead, there can be no Kingdom and no returning King. When the disciples stood at the place where Jesus left this earth, which is called the place of ascension, they were given assurance by angels that the Christ of resurrection would be the Christ of returning glory:

“Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).

The resurrection is an event which prepares you and me and confirms for us that future event when He will return again.

Yes, Jesus Christ is alive. And because He lives, you will live also―if you believe.

The apostle Paul said, “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins” (1 Cor 15:17 ). It is as simple as that. If Christ is still dead, then He cannot be our Savior, for He was not the Son of God, and He died like all men.

But, as the Scriptures teach and as hundreds of witnesses testified (none of whom ever recanted that testimony despite threats and death for many of them), if Christ is risen, then we have the ultimate hope of humanity—eternal life with the God who made us and a hope of life beyond the grave.

I know of the ones who made claims of being someone, they all died and are gone. Hey! Where are they? Death had hold over them. They never ever returned from the grave. But I know of the one, who died and rose from the dead―Jesus. He conquered the death and the grave. He arose from the dead and showed Himself 40 days and nights to men and then ascended to the heaven before the very eyes of men.

Christ’s physical resurrection is an essential part of God’s plan to save us. Have you given yourself to this living Christ?

If you trust the resurrected Christ as your Lord and Savior, He will be with you when you die and will give you life with Him forever. Because of the resurrection, you can be “born again.” Only Jesus who died for your sin can save you from your sin. And only the one who has conquered death can save you from the power of death. Shalom!

“If Jesus rose from the dead, then you have to accept all that he said; if he didn’t rise from the dead, then why worry about any of what he said? The issue on which everything hangs is not whether or not you like his teaching but whether or not he rose from the dead.”

― Timothy Keller

Our Lord our God, I come to You in hope and joy. I know You will raise me up on the last day just as You did Jesus. I anticipate the day when the King will return to receive me into heaven forever. I have been born again, and I know I am saved through Your Son and my Savior. Amen
