it’s not too late
“Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations… teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”
I sometimes think our world is on the threshold of a mighty, world-wide spiritual awakening and harvest. This is a glorious time to be alive.
We see that people everywhere, all over the world, will respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ if we present it simply, with Christian compassion. Yet there are some who are in deep despair. I hear daily from people who are discouraged, depressed, and ready to give up. They are yielding to the pessimism of our times, to the mood and spirit of our day. Once a man wrote, “It’s too late to do anything about the world.”
That isn’t true. All is not lost. We still have the Bible, and “the word of God is not bound” (2 Timothy 2:9). We still have the Holy Spirit. We still have the fellowship of believers. We still have the prayers of God’s people. We still have an open door to most of the world for proclaiming the gospel.
Jesus once said, “As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.” (John 9:4).
When the night falls, no one can work. Yes, night will fall for everyone one day, when we will come to the end of our life and close our eyes to this world, we will be gone and will have no more opportunity to share the gospel, even if we passionately desire to do so.
So, since all is not lost; the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ ushers in a fresh ray of hope for our world. We need to realize that “time is of essence.” They say, “time is money”; but money can be earned again but “time can only be redeemed, not earned.” Time, once gone, will not return. What we must do, we must do now! Make the most of your time while on the earth. Tell someone about Christ, today.
